The camping season in northern Canada is short, but if you have a cozy trailer to keep you warm at night, you can make it last a little longer. This little 1965 Airstream Globetrotter recently took its family camping at Bakers Narrows in northern Manitoba.

On the third Saturday of every month in Reno, the Riverwalk District hosts the Wine Walk. If you’ve never been, it’s a must-do Reno activity. $20 buys you a glass and a map (don’t lose your map!), and each participating location on the map provides wine and sometimes even a little snack. It’s just a sample of wine, but with more than 20 businesses pouring each month, you get more than your money’s worth as you peruse the destinations along the streets and alleys near the Truckee River.
I like to inform my friends that have never been before that it’s not a ‘wine tasting’ event, more of a ‘wine guzzling’ event. Some places offer pretty good wine, and others offer pretty cheap wine; but all places have friendly staff, and it’s a fantastic opportunity to get to know the local businesses in downtown Reno. Restaurants, lounges and bars, boutiques, flower shops, salons, and even a live performance theater are all regular stops on the monthly event.
I usually start the Wine Walk at Reno eNVy, my favorite trailer boutique and souvenir shop, where each glass is decorated with a trailer wine charm at no extra charge. And while you’re there, you can start the afternoon with a cheesy group photo in the shop’s Airstream.

I recently had a great link sent to me by my sweet fella (my friends think it sounds ridiculous when I call him that. I tried “gentleman caller” for a while, but they said that made me sound like an escort; and “boyfriend” sounds way too silly for someone my age. Anyway….).
Houzz is a renovation inspiration website that allows you to browse rooms and save photos for your own projects. A recent post featured Airstream Trailers as an idea, because “in this increasingly urban and budget-conscious world, one of the greatest design challenges homeowners and designers face is figuring out how to live comfortably and stylishly in increasingly smaller spaces.”
And although the design and photos were Airstream-specific, the post reminded us, “Even if you don’t own an Airstream… think of these spaces as test-bunny methods you can use in your home’s smaller spaces. After all, a little goes a long-haul way.”

It’s still the middle of winter, but I am dreaming of sultry summer nights with the scent of coconutty suntan lotion and sweet waffle cones lingering in the air. I long for evenings of sitting on a blanket at the park and enjoying the lastest culinary creation from a local food truck….

On the Green Road is a blog by a couple of Canadian ladies who have simplified, greenified, and are travelling around the continent in an eco-Airstream hauled by a bio-fueled truck.
Yesterday’s post was a picture-heavy introduction to Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies, as well as a list of things to see and do while you are there. Banff holds a special place in my heart…. It’s just down the road from and shares a mountain range with Jasper, Alberta, which was my home for a couple of years in the early 90’s; I spent a lot of time in the park when I was growing up – camping, hiking, and skiing; and it was the location of my very first kiss (don’t tell my dad 😉 ).

Tiny House Blog posted an article this morning about a Canadian couple who have downsized, and are downsizing again. And they are ready to sell their 1983 Airstream Excella, affectionately named Rosie.
Rosie offers 232 square feet, and is in great condition. Check out those floors!! Read more about her here.
